Individuals addicted to alcohol or drugs experience a life thrown off balance by addiction. Their families are torn apart. Their bodies grow sick. They often find themselves unable to perform at work or school. Social contacts may dwindle to only those who abuse alcohol or drugs with them. These individuals experience unique challenges as they battle magnified burdens of loneliness, negativity, and self-hatred.
But even more common and pervasive than any of these is that the addict becomes alienated from God. The founders of Alcoholics Anonymous recognized this fact and built the 12 Step program around Biblical truth.

In the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, we learn that we can only turn our physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual failings around through a “spiritual awakening.”
We believe that a solid spiritual foundation is essential to an effective recovery program for each client. Clients may choose either our Christian or Traditional 12 Step program, whichever is most comfortable for them and may change programs at any time during treatment. Groups that address the medical, psychotherapy or physical basis of addiction are blended, while groups dealing with life skills and spiritual issues are separated based on program choice.
For over three decades, Covenant Hills has operated under the conviction that the inspired Word of God is our foundational source and inspiration in the professional counseling, treatment, and rehabilitation process. We believe that love and compassion should be at the heart of a Biblically-based ministry and is necessary for healing. The Christian 12-Step program at Covenant Hills integrates the foundational truths of Scripture and the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. Our unique Christ-centered program employs a team of Christian counselors and pastors, all in long-term recovery, that are trained to combine Scripture with a highly structured clinical program.
At Covenant Hills, we recognize that many clients come through our doors questioning their Faith. We are committed to working with our clients in the spirit of tolerance for each person’s worth and dignity—beginning wherever they are in their search for God. Therefore, those clients who are genuinely seeking God can find Him gracefully and in His timing.
We believe that recovery is a process of transformation. A common and pervasive issue for the alcoholic or addict is the alienation from God. At Covenant Hills, we consider a strong spiritual foundation a vital and indispensable factor throughout recovery. Our Christ-centered 12 Step program allows clients to develop this integral foundation to rebuild productive lives in recovery.
Through our multi-disciplinary treatment approach, Covenant Hills offers gender-separate programming that affords our clients an environment of safety and openness that is essential in the treatment process. Residential Inpatient Treatment – Covenant Hills offers a 28-day Residential Inpatient program. This program provides a highly structured, gender-specific Christian-based program in a comfortable residential setting. Our staff of caring professionals administers some of the most effective treatments available. Through lectures and individual counseling, our team educates our clients about the psychological, physical, and spiritual implications of long-term substance abuse. Our Christ-Centered groups, individual counseling, and psychotherapy allow clients to discover and effectively address emotional or psychological issues that might interfere with recovery.
Transitional Treatment – For clients who have completed our Residential Treatment program and need continued support, we provide additional treatment in our Transitional Care program. Here recovery plans are refined, goals are set, and damages and issues caused by addictions are addressed, all while living in a less structured environment.
Day Treatment – Our Day Treatment program at Covenant Hills allows clients to live at home or in a sober living environment while participating in the clinical structure of our Residential Inpatient program. Day Treatment is available once clients have been assessed for clinical appropriateness.
Alumni Program – Alumni who graduate from our treatment programs are invited to continue their association by attending our Aftercare program meetings consisting of instruction, interactive process sessions, and group support.

Individuals addicted to alcohol or drugs experience a life that is thrown off balance by addiction. Their families are torn apart. Their bodies grow sick. They often find themselves unable to perform at work or school. Social contacts may dwindle to only those who will abuse alcohol or drugs with them. But, even more, common and pervasive is that the alcoholic/addict becomes alienated from God. The founders of Alcoholics Anonymous recognized this fact and built the 12-Step program—a program that has changed the lives of millions of individuals around the world—upon clear Biblical principles.
Borrowing from Biblical truth, the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous teaches that our physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual diseases can only be turned around through a “spiritual awakening.” The staff at Covenant Hills believes that a strong spiritual foundation is essential to an effective recovery program and that the nature of that spiritual foundation is revealed in the quality of each client’s relationship with God. We encourage and nurture this relationship in both the Christian and the Traditional programs.
