Richard E. Jackson is co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Pacific Hills. He has been a successful healthcare executive for nearly 40 years. Mr. Jackson joined with Mr. Dean in 1992 to start Recovery Options Corporation with a vision of helping addicts who were having a difficult time finding appropriate help. Soon realizing that there were few affordable alternatives that provided substance abuse treatment from a Christ-centered perspective, the two founded Pacific Hills Treatment Centers, Inc. in 1993 with a commitment to offer truly Christ-centered treatment in combination with a clinically sound program. Prior to founding Recovery Options and Pacific Hills, Mr. Jackson served as an executive in four healthcare companies in both private and public arenas. Mr. Jackson attended the University of Texas and received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Lamar University, where he graduated with honors. Mr. Jackson is a native of Texas. Mr. Jackson is one of the few “Normies” (as branded by his colleagues) in the company and credits the Lord for bringing him to this ”ministry”.
Kirby M. Dean is co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Pacific Hills. He has been in business for 33 years, serving in various marketing and management capacities. Mr. Dean, along with Mr. Jackson, founded Recovery Options Corporation in 1992 and Pacific Hills Treatment Centers, Inc. in 1993. Prior to 1993, Mr. Dean was employed by New Life Clinics, where he served as Program Director of two of the company’s inpatient psychiatric treatment centers. He later served as Director of Crisis Response over the residential treatment centers division of the company. Prior to joining New Life, he held various marketing and sales positions with several companies, primarily in the hotel and restaurant management industry. Mr. Dean lives in California, has been happily married for 17 years, he has six children, 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. He might enjoy his grandkids the most, “Having grandkids gives me someone to play with while the adults are in the other room talking.”
James Croley is VP-Operations of Covenant Hills. He and his wife have been involved in Pacific Hills from its inception in various capacities. Mr. Croley graduated from Lamar University with a business degree and has 38 years experience in construction and healthcare management. Mr. Croley brings a wealth of experience to all areas of operations and the marketing of Covenant Hills. Along with the responsibilities of being an owner/operator, he has a true compassion to help those that are suffering from the disease of addiction.
Susan Sloan is the Director of Administration at Pacific Hills. She has been in the treatment industry for over 15 years, serving in various administrative and management capacities. Ms. Sloan joined Pacific Hills in 2005. She is responsible for credentialing, Licensing and accreditation as well as insurance contracting, billing and human resources. Susan has 4 children and 2 grandchildren. She is an accomplished triathlete and competes when she can in local events. Susan has been active in recovery for 15 years.
Vivian Martin has been with Pacific Hills as its Director of Accounting for over 13 years. Mrs. Martin has worked in the field of accounting and business administration for 27 years. A graduate of the University of Houston with a MBA, Mrs. Martin enjoys spending time with her husband of 30 years and her two daughters. She is an active member in her church and credits prayer for her arriving at our doorstep 13 years ago.
Dr. Brueck is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. He received a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Freiburg in Germany. He spent many years researching and treating addictions involving substances and behaviors (gambling, internet, shopping, etc.). He has extensive experience working with depression, anxiety, impulse control, anger, post-traumatic stress disorder and relationship issues. Dr. Brueck is certified in a wide variety of empirically validated treatment techniques, such as Motivational Interviewing (MI), Community Reinforcement Approach (CRA), Community Reinforcement Approach and Family Training (CRAFT), Combined Behavioral Intervention (CBI), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Level 1, and Psychodynamic Imaginative Trauma Therapy (PITT). He is a certified trainer and supervisor for Motivational Interviewing (MI) and the Cognitive Behavioral Analysis System of Psychotherapy (CBASP). He has been a committed Christian with strong involvement in various aspects of ministry for over 30 years, and has been a member of the counseling staff at North Coast Church in Vista, California since 2009.
